Downtown Monroe (more specifically the Belk-Tonawanda Park) will once again play host to our Independence Day Celebration that includes food, music, amusement rides, and a great fireworks display when the sun goes down.

The event, which is co-sponsored by Monroe Parks and Recreations and the Union County Arts Council, will open at 4:30 PM.  Live music from Continental Divide will start at 7:30 and the fireworks explode at 9:30.

Admission to the park is free, the rides are pay-as-you-go with all day passes available.

Cold Beer and free music on Main Street in Downtown Monroe this Thursday starting at 6:30!  Bring your lawn chairs, come early and get a great seat.  Beer sales benefit the Monroe Rotary Club.

This month our band is Right Turn Clyde.  Check out their website at www.RightTurnClydeBand.com where you can hear some of their songs.  This is a great FREE event…family friendly too…so ya’ll come on down.  See you there!

City Council has approved the Downtown Monroe PRONTO program whereby qualified retail businesses and restaurants can get assistance from the city for build outs, leases, and permit fees.

If you’ve ever tried to check out the homes for sale on this site then you know that the display was pretty terrible (and that’s being generous). Without boring you to tears with technical details, the root of the problem was that 2/3s of the homes for sale were not officially in the Historic District. As you’re probably aware we finally inducted the “proposed” section into the Historic District which solves the problem. So now if you check out the “Historic Homes for Sale” link over in the menu you’ll find it’s much easier to use. Even better is that it will actually stay updated!
